Nelson Dakmak

Nelson Dakmak started Dakmak Construction in 1982 performing residential AND commercial renovations. He quickly established a name for himself by consistently producing quality projects in numerous areas in the great city of Baton Rouge as well as in New Orleans, Hammond, St. Francisville, and Houston.

Through 30 + years of experience, his projects have ranged from simple residential maintenance to commercial restaurants, including a broad spectrum of establishments - from seafood markets, apartment complex renovations, and club houses, to residential bath and kitchen additions and renovations.

Nelson is a former President of the remodelers Council of Greater Baton Rouge. He has served as a continuing board member for over 20 years. With this involvement, he serves the community through projects and continuing education to its members.

Oakley Plantation in St. Francisville was Dakmak Construction’s first Historical Plantation Remodeling project.

He was then invited to bid on the Historical Otis Plantation in Madisonville, Louisiana. This was his second successful historical remodel and was completed in 2011.

Nelson is recognized as a Historic Remodeler by the State of Louisiana in completion of exterior renovations to both The Oakley Plantation in St. Francisville and Otis Plantation in Madisonville.

HGTV featured a Dakmak Construction remodel project in their hit series "Bang for your Buck".

Daren Dakmak

Growing up with two extraordinarily talented parents, Daren Dakmak has always had natural creative energy. His father, Nelson Dakmak is a highly skilled and respected contractor whose work has been recently featured on HGTV and 225 magazine. Along with a long list of credentials he has formed over the years. His mother,Terri Dakmak, is a renowned water-color artist in Baton Rouge and whom has also contributed to Daren's "edge" in the remodeling industry through constant exposure to the Arts.

After taking Architectural Drafting at Catholic High, he soon realized he was ready to utilize his natural abilities and follow his father's footsteps in the family business. After Majoring in Interior Design at University of Louisiana in Lafayette, he returned to Baton Rouge full of new idea's and enthusiasm to contribute to new innovations.

"Looking around Louisiana, especially in the Baton Rouge Area, I have so much pride in seeing the countless contributions my father has made to this community. I am looking forward to carrying on his legacy and continue to improve home owners quality of living, along with preserving the historic value while still involving modern and contemporary elements.
